Fundraise with your own sponsored Charity Abseil
There are so many options for charity fundraising events - abseiling for charity is one of them! We are the No.1 provider of charity abseils in the South East and work closely with a number of charities to safely manage their abseiling events.
A charity abseiling event is the perfect opportunity to fundraise whilst having an adventure and raising that much needed cash and recognition for your favourite charity. The great thing about abseiling for charity is that unlike many other charity fundraisers, it can be undertaken by people of all ages and abilities meaning that nobody is left out and everybody gets to play their part in fundraising.
A charity abseil can take place at any number of potential venues. We run abseil fundraisers regularly at the Spinnaker Tower , Peacehaven Cliffs and even from Cranes - or you can choose a venue of your own and we can assess it for suitability.
Are you wondering how to go about organising a charity abseil? Our blog "How to Organise a Charity Abseil" might help!
Below is all the information you will need to find out about running your charity abseil fundraiser with Hatt Adventures.
Organising the Charity Abseil
Organising a charity abseil fundraising event with us is easy. All you have to do is follow the steps below:
1 - Finding a Venue FOR THE ABSEIL EVENT
This is the fun part of organising an abseil for charity because your options are so diverse. You can be as creative as you like. Potential abseiling venues could include famous buildings, churches, bridges, towers or arches.
Due to high demand we won't be able to find a venue for you, but we are able to provide you with detailed information including helpful advice and tips (please ask us for an information sheet) and our team are always happy to answer any questions you might have. We also assess the suitability of your venue (see below).
2 - Contact Us TO ENQUIRE ABOUT ORGANISING YOUR CHARITY EVENT
Please complete our enquiry form with all the details of your charity, the abseil event, venue etc and we will be in touch shortly:
3 - ABSEIL Venue Photos
Send us photos so we can assess the suitability of your venue:
Please note: we receive a huge amount of photos on a daily basis which clog our emails so please don't email them - please use wetransfer. Thanks!
4 - Site Visit
It's time for us to fully assess your proposed venue for your charity abseil event. We will visit the site in order to write risk assessments and method statements. We will then send you a full break down of costs. The site visit is included in the overall cost of the charity abseil. Please note that if a site visit is completed and you choose not to run the charity abseil following this, you will still incur the full cost of the site visit (£250+VAT + travel & expenses.)
5 - Confirm your Booking
It's easy to book. Once the site visit is complete and the venue is determined as suitable we will need a 50% deposit with full payment no later than 30 days prior to the start date. The day itself will run as per our method statement.
Participants
Charity abseil fundraisers are always really popular events and you won't find yourself short of willing participants. If required our marketing team can assist with event promotion on our social media channels.
We believe in providing a high quality abseil experiences for all participants. We understand that the more people that abseil, the more money your event raises for charity, so we will do our best to get as many people abseiling as possible.
As a rough guide, for a 50ft abseil we can get approximately 10 people abseiling on one rope per hour. For longer abseils you will be looking at 6-8 people per hour.
The number of abseilers able to utilise one rope in an hour and the number of ropes required are dependent upon a number of factors including the abseil length, location and the speed of the abseils. Additional ropes can be set up to cater for large group sizes.
Pricing
Prices start from as little as £950+VAT and include such things as instructors fees, the use of specialist abseiling equipment, a site visit and a risk assessment.
As a guide, charity abseils normally cost approximately £25-35 per person, which groups usually charge as a registration fee for the event followed by setting up a minimum sponsorship limit for participants to raise. A suggested minimum sponsorship fee is £150 per person.
We will endeavour to keep your costs low so that as much money can be raised for your chosen charity as possible.
Fundraising Potential
Charity abseils have great fundraising potential. Each of our abseils for charity have raised between £6,000 - £25,000 for worthwhile causes.

What Our Clients Have to Say ABOUT OUR CHARITY EVENTS
Military Ministries International
“"It was a lovely day for the event and everyone who participated greatly enjoyed it. Apart from the challenge (more serious for some than for others), what helped make the day was the professionalism and attitude of your team. To a man they were thorough, attentive to our needs as well as to the safety of the event, friendly, well-spoken, enthusiastic and fun to be with. They calmed the nerves of those who were, understandably, a bit fearful and ensured that, no matter how concerned some were, everyone enjoyed the experience and the thrill of stepping off a 160ft high tower backwards and abseiling to earth. The HATT team probably didn’t realise it but our experience ranged from first-time abseilers (some the wrong side of 50) to professionals, some of whom are currently serving with the German Army Mountain Infantry Division and others are climbing instructors from Bulgaria. Your team took us as you found us and made it a great day for everyone. You got it absolutely right on the day and I am greatly appreciative of the briefings you gave us and the competence and friendliness of your team." - RoddyKia Motor Group for Comic Relief
“Everyone at Kia had a really great day – thank you so much to you and your team for making the event run so well from start to finish. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the team from Hatt Adventures and want to thank you all for a really great day. We have raised nearly £10k for Comic Relief!” - Emma
Young Epilepsy
“Thanks so much for everything both leading up to the event and on the day itself, you were all fantastic, we were so pleased with how everything went. I have had so much good feedback (the nervous ones in particular praised you all and wanted to pass on their thanks) and I cant thank you enough.” - Chloe
